Dr. Linda R. Salmon, DDS
Dr. Salmon grew up on the Northwest Side of Chicago. She began her undergraduate studies at Loyola University, but then finished her last few classes at University of Illinois in Chicago and received her Bachelor of Science in Dentistry from University of Illinois. She then continued her studies at University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1996.
Immediately after graduating, she worked in the Oral Surgery Department at UIC College of Dentistry to focus on oral surgery techniques. She then moved onto a dental office in Aurora, primarily seeing patients on public aid and children from the Mooseheart residential childcare facility.
Dr. Salmon left Aurora to purchase a partnership in a prestigious dental office in Oak Park, IL. She purchased a well known dentist and Frank Lloyd Wright advocate Dr. Gabriel Freese’s dental practice. Dr. Freese owned a Frank Lloyd Wright home and was very active in the community. In the 90s, there were not a lot of women dentists and this was an amazing opportunity for Dr. Salmon to step into another woman dentist's practice and to be a part of such a wonderful community like Oak Park. Dr. Salmon was a part of the Rotary Club, the local Soup Kitchen and active in many events for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
In 2002, she sold her Oak Park practice to move her home from Lincoln Park, Chicago to the north suburbs. She now had 2 children and wanted to make sure they would be in a good school district.
The commute to Oak Park was too long and she sold her Oak Park office and moved her dental practice to the northwest side of Chicago in the Sauganash area. Dr. Salmon grew up very close to this area and felt like it was meant to be. She bought into the partnership of the office. She became very active in the community mentoring students from her alma mater Resurrection High School and other schools by giving dental demonstrations at local grade schools including her childhood school James B. Farnsworth.
She was also very active donating to the Chicago Police and Fireman departments and attending Chicago fundraiser events to support local causes.
Since Dr. Salmon was living on the North Shore and her children were attending New Trier High School, she also became active in the north suburban communities. She has supported The Cradle of Evanston, The Citadel of Lake Forest, Selah Freedom for survivors of human trafficking, Wings-survivors of domestic violence, Project H.O.O.D-help end violence, recidivism, and helps rebuild the communities that are broken.
After the COVID pandemic, Dr. Salmon decided it was in their best interest to sell her practice and move her practice to the northern suburbs where she was finding herself spending more and more of her time at community events and fundraisers.
Dr. Salmon has had such a strong affiliation with the different organizations in the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff area, it only seemed natural to seek an office in the area. She continues to support the Lake Forest Citadel, The Smith family who always hosts Citadel functions at their many estates, Lake Forest and Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce, Encore of Lake Forest, International Club of Lake Forest and so many others. She is still supporting Project H.O.O.D and some other charities from Chicago. But, Lake Bluff is where she is trying to focus her attention. She is presently showcasing local Artist Sharon Eckland's renowned "Guardian Angels" art and some of her new muses in her office. Stop in to see what's new in the waiting room!!!
